Cry Of A Dying River...27
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that can't wait to welcome the monsoon
Come monsoon and bring the rain in the land
The land in the Republic of Dust
The rain that eashes away the dirt and filth
The river that loves romancing the rainy days
Rainy days that prepare you for a 'rainy day'
Rainy days that cleans everything but the 'greedy minds'
The rain that rains with a message
"Learn From The River To Flow With Nature".
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that has a 'love-hate' relationship with monsoon
Monsoon that makes the dull stream flow in full in all its glory
Monsoon that clears all the plastic litters trash and wastes
Monsoon that serves as adrenaline to the natural flowing water course
The very monsoon that carries down to the 'mouth'
All plastic garbage and scraps non-biodegradable
And dump them into Loktak
Oh monsoon!! Spare the river and do not spoil the lake
You are so much unlike the 'homo sapiens'.
