Cry Of A Dying River...26
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that paints the poetry of tears
Tears that tell tales of uprooted trees
Tears that unfold loss of aquatic shrubs and plants
Tears that weep for the disappearing oyster and small living organisms
Tears that shed no longer on sandy soil
Tears that search for the sparkling sand gone by
The river that is in tears
Tears of agony betrayed feeling and hurt
Tears of a river a dying river.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that loathes the (rise of) morning sun
Men rise in the morning sun
So deep is their love for the river
So they love dumping and they did/do
All trash wastes kitchen scraps refuse in the river
The river that detests dusk
That scary dusk that brings forth army of garbage dumpers
The river that loves the darkness of mid-night
The river that finds peace in the "heart of darkness" .
