Cry Of A Dying River...100
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
I am dying a man-made death
Oh! dear people living along the river banks
I ask of you this before I die...
Is it part of the order of human nature
That you become so ultra-destructive
Downright arrogant selfish and self-centered
That you cannot afford to leave a river alone
A river of solitude at peace with nature
Oh Cruelty! Thy Name Is Man.
I am no longer the river I was once
Oh! dear rivers flowing through the valley
I WISH TO SHARE WITH YOU
FEELINGS I HAVE HAD FOR LONG
WORDS OF WISDOM OF A DYING RIVER
I HAVE THIS PREMONITION
I SHALL NOT BE WITH YOU FOR MANY YEARS LONGER
I HAVE LIVED A LONG LONG LIFE
LONG ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF MAN
MAN IS THE ONLY CREATURE WHO DESTROYS WITHOUT CREATING.
