Consultation on "Development and Displacement"

The Centre for Research and Advocacy, Manipur (CRAM) would like to
invite your kind presence to a Manipur State Consultation on
“Development and Displacement”, scheduled at Manipur Press Club,
Imphal, on 26th September 2016 at 10 A.M.
The Consultation is aimed to reflect on the pattern of the
introduction of unsustainable development processes and forced
eviction in Manipur and the arbitration of developmental and peoples’
rights standards at all levels. While also identifying challenges of
securing justice to communities challenged by forced eviction, the
consultation will also take concrete action plans based on the reality
of development processes fast unfolding in Manipur.
The consultation
will also discuss existing human rights mechanisms for promoting
housing and land rights at all levels. The consultation is also aimed
at strengthening indigenous communities’ solidarity to assert their
rights over their land and to strengthen their ability to seek justice
for any unjust development processes.
The Centre for Research and Advocacy, Manipur would like to request
your kind and timely presence at the consultation meet. The programme
