CALL FOR PAPER ABSTRACTS & POSTERS
Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), along with North East Development Foundation (NEDF) and Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) organises The UN SDGs CONFERENCE 2016 on December 5-6, 2016 in Guwahati, Assam.
The Conference invites faculty, independent researchers, scholars, and students to submit abstracts & posters.

Conference Themes United Nations has fixed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which needs to be fulfilled by the year 2030. IBSD has taken the initiatives in this direction to work towards some of these Goals from the Grass root levels to Global level. Some of the major themes for deliberations are listed below.
Major Themes
o Goal 1: No Poverty - End hunger, achieve food security, improved nutrition and
promote sustainable agriculture.
o Goal 13: Climate Action - Taking urgent actions to combat climate change and its impacts.
o Goal 15: Life On Land - Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forest, combat desertification halt, reserve land
degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
o Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build
effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
o Goal 17: Partnership For The Goals - Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
INVITATION FOR ABSTRACTS:
Abstracts are invited on the above stated themes.
Guidelines for Abstract Authors
o Title of Article: Should be precise, brief & should not exceed 15 words.
o Abstract: An abstract is essentially the summary of article.
o All abstracts must be submitted in electronic format (Word) using Times New Roman. The official conference language is English.
o The length of the abstract must not be more than 500 words and it should be double spaced. The body of abstract should contain introduction, objective, methods, results, and conclusions. It may also include possible implications of the research.
Format for Abstract Submission
o Title: Bold, centered, 14 font size
o Author’s Name: Right side, 10 font size
o Name of the organization: Right side, 10 font size
o E-mail address: Right side, 10 font size
o Telephone Number: Right side, 10 font size
o Body: 11 Font size, fully justified
Paper Size and Layout: A4, top and bottom margins: 1.00", Left and right margins: 1.00"
Review: The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Expert Committee of the IBSD
Conference. Please note that the decision of this committee will be final.
Evaluation criteria for selection of Abstracts:
o Clear & fluent language
o Catering to the themes of the conference
o Whether a research question is answered & scientific methods are used
o Clear presentation of ideas and objectives
o Whether abstracts are based on valid interpretations and are clearly stated and justifiable.

Publication: All the selected abstracts will be published and released in the conference.
Awards: There will be 3 best Abstract Awards amongst the selected and presented abstracts.

Posters are invited on above stated conference themes.
Guidelines for poster authors:
Poster size: width 90 cm (~36 inches), height 130 cm (~51 inches). Format: Portrait
Review: The submitted posters will be reviewed by the Expert Committee of the IBSD
Conference. Please note that the decision of this committee will be final.
Evaluation criteria for selection of Posters:
o Catering to the themes of the conference
o Clear presentation of ideas and objectives
o Whether posters are based on valid interpretations and are clearly stated and justifiable.

Publication & Exhibition: All the selected posters will be exhibited during the conference.
Awards: There will be 3 best Poster Awards amongst the selected and presented posters.
