Comrade Irabat Singh's Statue Unveiled in Agartala

A STATUE of Comrade Hijam Irabot Singh, an outstanding communist leader of Manipur, was unveiled in Agartala on October 1. The statue was formally inaugurated by Tripura chief minister, Manik Sarkar, at Kalyani, Agartala, under the auspices of Agartala Municipal Council. The mass meeting prior to the formal inauguration of the statue was attended by people from all walks of life.
Apart from the chief minister, the state’s higher education minister Anil Sarkar, urban development minister Manik Dey, CPI(M) Manipur state secretariat member Y Ratan, CPI Manipur state secretariat member L Satin Kumar and president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad in Tripura S Suresh Singh were also present. Dr Prafullajit Sinha, chairman of the Agartala Municipal Council, presided over the function.
