Chimney Pot
- Part 2 -
- Aficionado of the fairy trails -
By Margarita Angomcha *
A prelude note:
Fairy and yet not fair. Opulent and yet vulnerable, these are the ways of the vanished princess and her Knight-errant. A minute portion of a selective sort of spice which may dismember the articulate taste for many a lot. The platter is not full, kindly enjoy with the morsels.....It was a lazy summer afternoon. The tick-tock of the clock read half past two. Mortal lethargy tied me up with a lame excuse "oh another hour will do".
Aha! a stolen chance for my fanatical dreams to make an entry with a thud in my heart. And I greeted "Welcome on board my stupid set of disagreeable dreams, which surpass but the mortal anticipations".
The sluggish eyes loitered around surrendering to day-dream again. It murmured to me "ssshh I am all ready to get set go now". My response was quick "Alright here we go, two to tango- you and me and our odyssey on the go".
The ideal victim for the day was none but the clouds. Somewhere in the corner of my mind hummed "Every cloud has a silver lining". Pretty interested, I gazed and observed with my vision a little blurred.
The impending rays of the proud and arrogant sun made the clouds restless. By now the dramatic elements had taken its birth. Diverting your kind attention for a fraction of second would anyone install a morsel of faith upon me if I exclaim that I saw a Knight and a fairy Princess amidst the clouds? (perhaps an annoying "NO"). But touchwood! I did envisage with one.
It was the ballroom party in the sky during broad-daylight. The knight and the princess and the most romantic steps. Apparent jealousy or some sort of envious feelings wrapped me up from within with a longing desire to fit myself in the shoes of the lucky princess, yet I cherished but the blessed couple with no venom in my heart.
The vista glued me for some time until I discovered an utter annoying sight of the Knight gradually parting away from the Princess. The retreating steps of the knight made the princess forlorn yet she smiled and greeted her lover luck.
I was bamboozled of why the knight had to gallop away bidding adieu to the princess sooner than later. This question still perturbs my mind with no valuable answer on the hunt.
Alarms! "Every cloud has a silver lining". (Brooding thoughts on halt now). They must have promises to abide by or perhaps some mortal obligations called them back to their own parental worlds. And time and tide can preside and decide over it better than some King Solomon.
All the while I was deeply engrossed in my own thoughts. I came round with a start. Found myself back with my sister in front of me. She was watching me with that bull-dog like eyes. She frowned and groaned "is it time for you to sleep like this now".
I grinned back with a mockery note "it's none of your business baby". She gave me that incorrigible look and I could read it "this girl is not going to change". Silence does speak many a times. Right?
The gentle breeze, the last golden rays of the setting sun announced that dusk was on its way. Smokes flared up somewhere from my locality and I was wondering if it was rising up from a 'Chimney Pot'.
However, none of the families in our locality ever had a chimney pot.
Thank god! You saved me from jealousy in the making. If I had ever found out any family using one then I would be annoyed so it was better that way. Alright!
Well, time for some daily dose of evening red-tea with lemon leaves (my secret tea-recipe).
To be continued ...
(Coming up later with my own set of indisputable series and tales. Stay tune to e-pao. Greetings to the site)
