I'm also a student who is studying outside Manipur, but I would like to
say something on the attitudes and motives of those students who are
studying outside the state.
We all know that now-a-days our motherland is passing through the bad time. Many unwanted incidences are taking place
there, but most of the people are not doing anything except blaming the politicians and the system.
It doesn't mean that these politicians don't have fault they also have their own share of faults. Nevertheless the
people are rather taking them as some kind of 'e'scapegoats than accepting some of their fault.
We can't deny that we are also responsible for the misfortune that our motherland has to some extent. Now is the time to
stand against the fact and take up some measures on our own.
I'm not going to write on what I wrote in the first paragraph instead I'll be writing on the responsibilities of the students in making our
motherland a better place to live.
We the youngsters are not doing anything, we are just watching the things happening and blaming the
politicians. WE are also saying that politics is a dirty game and it's meant for those people who've filthy minds.
But instead of saying such things can't we get into politics and take all the dirt out of it?
What we want in life is to get a decent job in other words the one that's lucrative and then get married and spend rest of the life happily without any
trouble. And pass comment on what we read in newspaper in morning as the first thing of the day i.e. cursing the politicians and the system.
What if we try to analyse politics as much as we can then sorting out it's pros and cons. According to me it would be the better way to deal
with politics and to uplift our motherland's condition.
But there's one thing that's troubling me since a couple of weeks, it's the attitude and motives of those students who are studying outside
Manipur.
Inspite of knowing the undesirable condition of their motherland, most of the students are engaging in some activities which are ruining
their lives without their knowledge. Most of the students are getting into drugs, taking drinks, smoking, living with the person of opposite sex
whenever they feel like doing.
It'll be wrong if I say these students who are outside Manipur are the only ones who are getting into such things, back home the students are acting in the same way.
Yet there's one big difference between these two different groups of students and it's the presence of parents.
Since the former one is free from their parents as their parents can't see them they are enjoying absolute freedom whereas
the latter one has their parents to check on their changing behaviour and mindset. I definitely want to know something from such kind of students
that what'll they get by acting in such way.
I agree that it's none of my business to tell them what to do and what not to do. It's their lives and they can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt
anyone in the bargain. But here they are hurting their parents and to some extent their motherland. Asking their parents to send more money when
that amount is more than the required amount and then spending this money on undesirable purposes.
I want them to know that their parents send them out of Manipur because they want them to pursue their careers without any kind of hindrance.
Even though the parents find it hard to afford for their children's education they think it's a must. There's one big reason for this and it's the feeling that
their children won't be able to concentrate on their study as their's turmoil in the state, they don't want them to feel insecure and to stop them from being misguided.
In the process the poor parents get into the debt but still they try their best to arrange the amount of money that's necessary for their children's
education. So the students who are studying outside Manipur must utilise the facilities that they are getting here and become resourceful individuals in future.
By doing like this they can strive for the betterment of their beloved motherland through education which's some sort of awesome weapon in this world of knowledge.
We must be aware of the fact that our parents are counting on us in the hope that they'll lean on us when there's nothing but only the love of
their children. It's really irritating to see the students lying on their parents who gave birth to them. I really feel sorry for these pathetic
parents and it's also ridiculous when such children try to blame their parents for their fault.
I can't take such incidents as misfortune for some parents and families but it's a mistake that all the people of Manipur as a whole are going to pay later on
when time goes. So as a student and a friend, I would like to request all of my compatriots who are students to zero in on their studies and try their best to
fulfill the expectations of their parents.
We can also do something to improve the existing condition of our motherland if we all become responsible citizens. We must know that it's important to be in the
system to change the system, so we must not do anything that can ruined our life forever by saving ourselves from being misguided.
This is the only thing that I can do as a student who wants to do something that he can do for his motherland and
for those parents who wants to see their children come out with flying colours in the battle of life.
