Certificate distribution for RPL trainees of Barchapori, Arunachal Pradesh
Chanu Creations, Imphal, Manipur has been trained RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) training to 264 weavers in Barchapori, Namsai District of Arunachal Pradesh on the job role ‘‘Two Shaft Handloom Weaver’’ (QP No: TSC/Q7303, conforming to NSQF Level-4) through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) as PIA.
Training is imparted in accordance with National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) with strict monitoring guidelines enforced by NSDC. The assessment of the trainees was conducted by different assessment agencies assigned by Textile Sector Skill Council (TSC).
Altogether 255 candidates were successfully cleared the assessment and certified RPL certificates. They are also covered Personal Accident Insurance Scheme provided by The New India Assurance Company under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) for three years. RPL is an important step towards getting formal acceptance and respect for informally acquired knowledge and skills. Now RPL shows them a path to bridge their current knowledge and skill levels to reach a competency level.

Today the 24th March, 2019 Chanu Creations organizes RPL certificate distribution ceremony at Barchapori, Mahadevpur, Namsai District of Arunachal Pradesh.
The event was attended by Shri Missimbor Deori, Gaon Bura Mahadevpur Namsai, Smt. Chirom Indira a National Awardee 2015, Nari Shakti Puraskar Awardee 2017, Women Transforming India Awardee 2018, DMA All India Women Entrepreneurs Awardee 2018, Vasundhara Hall of Fame Awardee 2018 and Proprietor/CEO Chanu Creations, Shri Atul Taye, Gaon Bura Lower Silatoo Namsai, Shri Prakash Rai Social Worker, South Sikkim, Smt. Sital Rai Women Entrepreneur & Proprietor Sikkim Handloom & Handiceafts, South Sikkim and Shri W. Joyshankar Luwang Project Manager Chanu Creations were grace the function as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honours respectively. All the certified trainees are awarded RPL certificates at the event.
Handlooms fosters human bonding and brings positive changes. It brings people belonging to different religions, ethnicities and cultural together. The Northeast States has tremendous potential in promoting handloom sector as a trademark of the ethnicity because the region has been widely praised for their indigenous variety and interesting use of colour play and motifs. When world market is gradually moving more towards ethnicity and tradition with eco-friendly products perhaps this zone can give us a ready answer.
