Centre confirms Maoists' bid for bases in NE

Claiming that it is monitoring the situation closely, the Centre has confirmed reports of the Maoists trying to make inroads into the North Eastern Region by forging links with various militant outfits including the outlawed ULFA.
In this regard, the CPI (Maoist) has developed close fraternal ties with North-east insurgent groups like the Revolutionary Peoples’ Front (RPF), Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) of Manipur, NSCN(I-M) of Nagaland and ULFA of Assam. ... said Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju in a Rajya Sabha reply.
