Can I ask you ?
Debina Sanasam *
I won't ask you to smile
When you are holding back your tears
I won't ask you to be strong
When you are trying to hide your weakness
I know it's hard sometimes
I know the world is cold
But can I ask you ?
Can I ask you to be a star ?
That shines in the silence of the dark
And gives a lifetime of brightness
A symbol of unattainable
But a desire for everyone
And when it falls
It falls to make someone's wish true
Can I ask you to be a butterfly ?
A sign melancholic to happiness
That flutters here and there but rests nowhere
An epitome of life
Metamorphosed from caterpillar to butterfly
And when it hides
It hides to redefined beauty at its best
