On the night of 17th April, Loitam Richard was allegedly beaten to death by his hostel inmates in his hostel. He was only 19 years old, from Manipur, a first-year student of Architectural Engineering at Archarya NRV School of Architecture, Bangalore.
As per the preliminary post-mortem report, there is a strong evidence that Richard suffered repeated blows on the head and face during the confrontation with his hostel inmates. Sources reveal that his head was banged repeatedly against the steel frames of a window. Photographic Images of Richard following the confrontation indicate an incident of extreme violence leading to massive bleeding.
Recent development have revealed that the Bangalore police have booked two students Syed Afzal Ali and Vishal Banerjee for the murder. However, the students will not be arrested now as the police were waiting for the forensic report.
