Organised by the Department of Sociology, Manipur University
(17-18 March 2016)
Sir/ Madam,
The Department of Sociology, Manipur University (A Central University) is organizing an ICSSR Sponsored Two-Day National Seminar on the theme “State, Civil Society and Social Movements in Contemporary Northeast India: Approaches and Responses” on 17-18 March 2016 at Manipur University.
Focus of the seminar is on elucidating the complex matrix of relationship between the State, civil society and social movements in northeast India. Sub-themes of the seminar include:
1. State, Civil Society and Social Movements in Northeast India: Understanding their Approaches and Responses through Theoretical Perspectives;
2. Policing of Protest, and Role of Media in Movement Mobilisation and Navigation;
