Brutal attack on Ngamkholien Haokip condemned
28 August 2014
Ref. No.: TSA/BLR/F-1/14-25
Date: 2014-08-26
On 25th August, 2014 around 02:00 pm just before leaving for workplace, Mr. Ngamkholien Haokip @ Lenna, Joint Secretary (Indiranagar Area Representative) of the Thadou
Students’ Association, Bengaluru (TSA-B) was brutally attacked by a local guy by the name of Mr Sanketh at Indiranagar locality falling under Indiranagar Police Station. This guy was sitting on Mr Lenna’s Bike without any reason & misbehaved with him and even threatened to kill him.
He then started to beat Mr Lenna heavily and injured him seriously.
However, Mr Lenna did not react as a sign of courtesy towards the neighborhoods. After undergoing first-aid medication and dressings, he has been relieved though still in pain & mental distraught. An FIR against Sanketh had been filed under Indiranagar Police Station. Amazingly, the Station House Officer tried to sabotage the case by stating that such act was a petty case.
Therefore, a letter demanding the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bangalore East has been submitted so as to settle the matter in fairness of justice and in a peaceful manner at the earliest. We appealed to all the localities of Indiranagar, Bangalore to desist from such unprovoked attack in a civilized locality.
We also urged the concerned authority to address the problem as per law & justice immediately, failing which we shall protest against such violence to our life as enshrined in our sacred Constitution of India.
Sincerely,
(GINKHOHAO HAOKIP)
General Secretary,
