October 7, 2016 (DIPR) : A documentary entitled "Soft Target" directed by Bobby Wahengbam and produced by Films Division, Government of India, Mumbai, was screened at the recently concluded 10th Signs Film Festival, Kerala, one of the most reputed film festivals in India, held from September 29 to October 4, 2016.
The film was one of the 20 documentaries selected for the Focus Section of the festival.
"Soft Target" is a film is about human trafficking that is swiftly prevailing in Manipur, where youths and children, at the pretext of lucrative jobs and good education, have been landed at the hands of traffickers, not only of India but outside India including Singapore, Malaysia, etc.
The trafficking is going strength by strength with the same traffickers who were involved in 2007, and are still recruiting young girls. That speaks volumes of the ignorance of the people at large.
