Sub: Decision of imposing bandh on Meitei / Manipuri owned vehicles at Naga inhabited areas by NSF
Respected Sir / Madam,
With due regards, I would like to draw your kind attention of the concerned authorities through the columns of your esteemed site e-pao towards with referenced to the subject cited above.
I am very much aware and its condemnable act of Manipur Commando over the NSF students’ leader on 14th of Feb 2016 at Mantripukhri, Imphal. I would not hesitate pointing out that till so far the Union / Organization (NSF) has done tremendous good jobs over the welfare of the Students, Societies and State and everybody knows it.
But, it is very unfortunate at the other end where Naga Students’ Federation, Nagaland has quoted / termed as Meetei / Meitei / Manipuri responsible for the situation and as a result proposed to bandh entry of vehicles in Naga- inhabited areas starting from February 24 onwards. As student leaders, one must have a sense of duty and responsibility ; development & upholding the welfare of the society, including the common people of the state and country in general irrespective of caste, colour, religion respectively.
I would like to mention further that the people of Manipur is called Manipuri and so the termed Manipuri is necessarily not the Meetei / Meitei only but all the different ethnic groups as well. Namely, Aimol, Anal, Angami, Chiru, Chothe, Gangte, Hmar, Kabui: (i) Puimei (ii) Rongmei, Zemei , Liangmei, Koirao, Koireng, Kom, Lamkang, Mao, Maram, Maring, Mizo (Lushai), Monsang, Moyon, Paite, Purum, Ralte, Sema, Simte, Sukte, Tangkhul, Thadou, Vaiphei, Zou etc., living in different hilly areas of a State called Manipur.
So, when NSF stated ‘’Naga Inhabited areas’’ I am confused whether their statement lies in Nagaland jurisdiction only or any other States as wells…? I am very amused and shocked to notice the fact the such intellectual and state representative students took such an ugly and irresponsible steps that causes the insecure and communal violence.
What if the Police were just doing it normal frisking or just questions as those leaders are new or from other states.
However, as a responsible and bonafide citizen of the Society, I belief in peaceful co-existence so I demand the State Government of Manipur to strictly investigate the matters and book the culprits as per the laws of the Country is concerned without further delay.
I also would like to appeal the respected Organization (NSF) to kindly review / rethink its stand over the restriction of plying Vehicles owned by Manipuri / Meitei / Meetei over Naga Inhabited areas, as I believed it would lead and results dirty and ugly faces and unnecessary communal tensions over the two states.
Thanks & Regards
Yours faithfully,
