BJP ends 15-year-old ties with NPF
Nagaland Post | Kohima, Mar 5 (NPN):
Putting all speculations to rest, the BJP on Monday categorically made it clear that there will be no alliance with its 15-year-old partner, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the party will stick with the pre-poll ally-- NDPP. BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma clarified that the BJP will have no truck with NPF and therefore there was no question of stitching an alliance with the latter to form a government.
Referring to Manipur, the NEDA convener explained that NPF was registered as a different party there and ties in Nagaland had no bearing there. He added that when NPF president announced severing ties with BJP in 2017, it did not have any impact in Manipur. He said the government in Manipur was stable as BJP had a huge majority.
