It is to inform to all my brothers, sisters and friends of Manipur whose heart is in the right place for the development of our society that the application window for admission to Azim Premji University for the course of Master’s Program for the session 2013-15 in M.A. Development and M.A. Education has opened now. Both the courses are interdisciplinary programs for which aspirants can apply from any background. The university strongly encourages those aspirants who have work experience relevant to the field for which the program is applied in order to move on the class with good discussion with views from previous real world experiences of the students.

The university is the first autonomous private university in Karnataka. The purpose of being autonomous is to have its own curriculum that is different from conventional system prevalent in India in order to suite the international standard. The university has strong selective faculties in both programs suitable to the standard of the curriculum and pedagogy for which the university is established. The university is the outcome of the necessity of Azim Premji Foundation which already existed. The Foundation established by Wipro Chairman, Azim Premji. It is a not-for-profit organization which is dedicated in the field of the promotion of Education in India. The University has also conducted a one day seminar jointly with Manipur University at the premise of Manipur University on 10th of November on "New Dimension on Higher Education on 10th of October, 2012 as posted at e-pao.net on 8th of October, 2012.

The selection process is solely through All India simultaneous written examination and followed by personal interview for those selected in written test. The interview panel during the personal interview session does not check the bookish knowledge but tries to seek especially two things, one is the deep desire from the candidate to contribute towards education and development in India and another is the ability of the candidate to demonstrate the independence of thought. These two qualities will be very helpful during the course also.

The university understands the financial constraints of the students of India. The university tries the best to provide the financial assistance up to 50% of the total fee according to the financial status of the family of the student which decides under direct home investigation. No deserving candidate having been selected through the University admission procedure will be denied admission on the grounds of financial needs. I strongly felt the need of such students from the state, Manipur to become change agents who may be able to tackle the socio-economic-political issues in the state after being train from the University.
