Assam Rifles observes World Heart Day at Nambol
12 BIHAR battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a World Heart Day program at Nambol in Bishnupur district on 29 September 2016 to strengthen the civil- military bonding and to boost the sportsmen spirit in youth.
As part of the event, a ‘Run for Fun’ was organised wherein large number of contestants from various nearby schools, NCC boys & girls, Kennedy & ABBA Boxing Clubs took part in the event.
The event was graced in presence of DSP, Nambol police station, Dr Gambhir of RIMS & officials of 12 BIHAR. At the end of the run a lecture on Hypertension was organised by Dr Gambhir of RIMS.
A free medical camp was also set up by the team of 12 BIHAR where people were administered free medical checkup & medicines were distributed free of cost.
A total of 250 audience witnessed the event. Prize distribution ceremony was organised in which cash prize & consolation prizes were presented to the winners and the participants.
The troops of 12 BIHAR gave all the administrative support to make the event a success.
The event got an over whelming response from the villagers and the efforts were highly appreciated by the villagers and other personalities present during the event.
