Arunachal University Of Studies inks MOU with KVIC
Arunachal University of Studies signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Khadi Village and Industries Commission, Mumbai under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India at New Delhi today. The MoU was signed by Mr. A K Jha, CEO, KVIC and Mr. Divyanshu Goel, Registrar of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jha emphasized the importance of the Khadi and Village Industries in the country to generate employment opportunities. He said the Khadi and Village Industries holds immense potential in the light of the Make In India campaign, which has started to gather speed. The Khadi and Village Industries hold immense potential to excel in providing the employment and livelihood opportunities to the local artisans.
Mr. Divyanshu Goel, registrar of the University stressed upon the lack of the employment opportunities in the North Eastern Region and said that this MoU will help the University in training the unemployed youth to garner better opportunities.
The Collaborative training programmes will be run all across the state of Arunachal Pradesh, through which KVIC approved course modules will be run and assessed by the University and the candidates will be provided a Joint certification of KVIC and AUS.
Dr. Ashwani Lochan, president of the sponsoring body of the University was also present at the occasion and said that the highlight of these trainings will be the eligibility of the candidates to apply for entrepreneurship loans from the government under PMEGP.
He said that the University is committed to the welfare of the state of Arunachal Pradesh and its people and will soon be introducing more livelihood centric programmes in the future.
