Appeal to all the Stranded Denizens of Manipur
Date : May 20, 2020 - Bengaluru
It is our sincerest appeal to all the Manipur people who have reached Manipur, those who will be arriving in the next few days and those who will be onboarding in the next evacuation program from across different cities outside the state, to diligently abide and follow all the rules and regulations and SOPs cited by the Government agencies and the Civil bodies to contain the COVID-19 ‘Coronavirus’ is a must and unavoidable for all.
The responsibility to contain the virus lies not only with the Government agencies and CSOs but with every individual(s) and your participation amount to a huge contribution towards the society to overcome the pandemic.
It is saddening to learn that Manipur which was initially a “Green Zone” now arises with multiple positive cases of COVID-19 due to the infiltrations of the stranded Manipur people.
Hence, the dire need of extreme measures and cooperation from everyone is vital and obligatory, especially those who will be arriving and onboarding in the subsequent trips.
When in other regions, the positive cases found had been drastically controlled and confined, we are troubled by the many new cases in our home state. In this plight, the least we can do is following the guidelines set forth by them and thank them for working amidst all the adversities to keep us going.
MDB sincerely thank and commend Hon’ble Shri Biren Singh, CM of Manipur, under whose leadership was made this possible, the first evacuation program in the country; Chennai on 12th May and Bengaluru on 14th May to Jiribam, Manipur.
When everything around us had suddenly become despair and alarming, the launched of portal tengbang.in by the Government of Manipur on March 29, 2020 with the objective to address the grievances and help the Manipur people who are those stranded owing to the nationwide lockdown imposed post COVID-19 outbreak had been significantly remarkable and historic.
During this unprecedented nationwide lockdown, the action taken by the Government of Manipur had emboldened the view and perspective of oneness more vividly.
