Ao Senden resolves to disassociate from Naga Hoho
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Sep 23 (NPN) :
In a rebuff to Ao legislators’ appeal to the Ao Senden to “reconsider” the proposal from dissociating from Naga Hoho (NH), the Ao Senden Federal Council on Friday after a marathon meeting resolved to do so (disassociate).
In a press release, Ao Senden vice president O. Shilu Jamir and general secretary S. Panger Ao said the decision would remain until the Naga Hoho revoke its consent to grant Indigenous Naga Tribe status to Rongmei tribe in Nagaland. Ao Senden stated that the two Naga Hoho member tribes (Ao Senden and Sumi Hoho) along with Lotha Hoho comprising three Nagaland Tribes (CNTC) had served an ultimatum on Naga Hoho to take back its consent on Rongmei’s recognition as one of the Naga indigenous tribes of Nagaland. However, Senden said since the Naga Hoho chose to “undermine the same”, the three Hohos on August 24, 2016 resolved at a meeting, to disassociate its membership from the Naga Hoho.
