Annual Orphanage Visit at Prerena Bhawan, Pune
The Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND), Pune which is a registered non-profit, non-government community organization formed by the Manipuri professionals working in /retired from the Central Government or Maharashtra Government or other reputed Institutions based in and around Pune organized the Annual Orphanage Visit 2019 as a part of its Social Outreach Program.
AMAND members and their families visited the Missionaries of Charity (Prerena Bhawan), Hinjawadi, Pune on 21st July 2019 and interacted with the ~170 inmates of the home. Mr Sadananda welcomes the gathering and gave a brief account of the visit and about AMAND.
Sweets were distributed to all the inmates and there was a good interaction with songs from members and their families as well as from the inmates. On special request from the authorities of the orphanage, a water geyser 25ltrs was donated along with 180 kg of food grains (rice, atta, dal, sugar, etc). With a promise to visit again in the near future, the program was concluded. The authorities of the orphanage were very happy for the kind gesture from AMAND, Pune.
The program was coordinated by our young and dynamic member, Mr Sinam Sadananda and Mr Chongtham Bijen Meitei. AMAND appreciate both the program coordinators for their able coordination and successful implementation of the program.
Reception cum interaction with Rohan Philem by AMAND Pune
The reception cum interaction with Rohan Philem for his journey enroute from Kashmir to Kochi was also organized by AMAND Pune. The interaction program was hosted by Mr Hemanta Takhellambam and Mrs Lilicha Waikhom at their residence in Pimple Saudager, Pune.
Dr H Narendra, President, AMAND Pune acknowledge the effort of Rohan with a lengyan and Maj KY Singh presented him with a bouquet.
Mrs Angom Priyobala, AMAND Ladies Club also presented a lengyan to Rohan.
Dr Narendra elaborates about the campaign “Water for all” initiated by Rohan and its importance to this present environmental situation.
Rohan further enlightened the audience about the hardship that he faced throughout his journey. Members of AMAND Pune wishes Rohan for his successful campaign and all endeavors that he takes up in near future.
The gathering was concluded with simple refreshment and a group photo.
