A Euphoric Day Of Freedom
Moirangthem Minakshi Devi *
Streets rumbling with toddlers, their cheery faces and gleaming eyes,
Fistful of sweets, tricolour flag and clothes filled with saffron dyes.
Its yet the day, we cut all the evil ties,
And walk towards path of truth and no lies.
Let's remember,the struggle towards freedom,
And recall each martyrs sacrifice for Human Kingdom.
Our country wouldn't t be as magnificient as it is now,
If our frail brown skinned brothers weren't united as we know how.
It's the 73rd day ofindependence, of the Land of Sages,
Well known for Unison and bravery for ages.
It's a Land of Seven Sisters, hills and fountains,
Rich in culture and diversity others can't maintain.
Amidst the crowd, stands the Tricolour tall,
Waving through the breeze, in it reside the pride of all
Green , Saffron White balloons through the sky we see seldom,
Gracefully dances in the air, marking our victory to freedom.
The battle fought by Nation's Great Leaders ,have not gone in vain,
Their sacrifice sooth our soul like every drop of rain.
Their footprints is forever punched on the soil of this Land,
Leaving the future generations to perce ive the value of the soil where we stand.
On this day, I raise my head and feel the pride,
To be counted among the comrade of Indians at Nation-wide.
I feel the joy on being a free-bird today,
And I wish everyone a
"Happy Independence Day."
