This announcement is very Important. TISS is opening Master in Public Health which in India and is open only to Medical graduates.
Here the Non-Medical Graduates are also eligible to apply. There are few Institutes in India where we can study MPH.

The School of Health Systems Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai is introducing a new Master's programme in Public Health (MPH) from June 2008.

The curriculum of this four semester programme blends cutting-edge knowledge, skills and practice orientation creating a unique programme.

The MPH programme has a focus on Social Epidemiology designed to develop conceptual understanding of public health issues, impart research and analytical skills to engage in evidence based planning, implementation and management of public health initiatives at various levels.

Each semester concludes with an internship in a different health service set up, and research dissertation is compulsory part of the curriculum.

ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY:

(i) Medical graduates (with completed internship on or before 21.06.2008); or
(ii) A Master's degree in any discipline, or
(iii) Non-medical graduates with minimum 2 years experience after graduation in health sector.

APPLICATION FORMS AND INFORMATION BROCHURE:

By sending a request letter to the Deputy Registrar, along with a DD drawn in favour of the "Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai" for Rs.750/- OR
From the Cash Counter at TISS, Mumbai against cash payment of Rs.750/- OR
By downloading from tiss.edu (to be completed and submitted with a DD for Rs.750/-)

Unemployed SC and ST candidates, whose parents/guardian's income were Rupees One lakh or below for financial year 2006-2007 can obtain the Application Form free of cost.

They can download the form from website: tiss.edu and submit it along with a true copy of Caste/Tribe Certificate and the Income Certificate or they can send a request letter along with a true copy of Caste/Tribe Certificate, Income Certificate and self-addressed A4-sized cloth-lined envelope to the Deputy Registrar, TISS.

RESERVATIONS: Government of India norms will be applicable for admission of SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Disability (PWD) and International Students. Only a limited number of hostel seats and scholarships are available.

Key Dates:

(i) Last date for receipt of completed forms at the Institute : April 17, 2008
(ii) Written Test : May 12-15, 2008
(iii) Personal Interview : May 13-16, 2008
