Across the Woods
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
Into the deep woods went the man
Fresh from college
And in the prime of life.
He was handsome
And full of life.
After what seemed like an eternity
Out came the man
Grown old beyond his time.
He looked dead
But lived to the ripe old age of 85.
Could I call it the tale of a man
Who went into the woods
For two mortal hours
And who came out
A changed man?
Was he satisfied
During his brief sojourn in the woods?
Did he know what he wanted,
Who he was
And what he had?
Was he happy?
When the sun shone through rain
Did a rainbow appear in the evening sky
Across the deep woods?
Ah, that would be telling!
