Accountable for Idle Word
Bienhome Muivah *
Do you need to change some of the words you are speaking? Dead sure, dying to get there and afraid so. These are just idle words.
Wait a minute! Jesus said, we would give account of every idle word that we speak. "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the Day of Judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned" (Mt. 12: 36,37).
Have you ever heard the phrase "You are going to eat your words?" Here's a revelation for you. You have been eating your words all your life! You are being satisfied right now in your life by the words that you are speaking. Everything you/we do will bring harvest of like kind according to the law of seed time.
Our thoughts, words, and actions are seeds which will produce a harvest. You are eating your words every day. When you speak blessing, you reap blessing. If you decree life, you will reap life. If you are speaking joy, peace, triumph and victory, you will reap the same.
When you are born again through faith in Jesus Christ, you have the authority to release the power of God's word through your lips. His angels harkens to His word. God watches over His word to perform it. "Is not my words like fire," declares the Lord, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29).
The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook…
A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
The words of talebearer are as wounds and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly …
He that answers a matter before he heard it, it is folly and shame unto him"
When we look at these verses, we can see the awesome power of words-how our words can wound and hurt, or they can be like a well spring of life, pouring forth the wisdom of God.
Our words can bring shame, or they can bring honor. They can edify or they can condemn.
If we are going to sing that we have the victory, then let's talk the victory every day.
If we sing, I will live and not die, "let's talk life every day. It's up to you and me to make a choice to stop the death talk. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eats its fruit (Prov. 18:21).
We are eating the fruit of our words. Remember, the seed of your words is planted. First, then comes the harvest. Someone might say that they are not living in peace. How can they say that? It all depends on whether your feeling is placed more than the word of God. It also depends on whether you believe your circumstances more than the word of God. Stop saying negative, ungodly things.
The good news is, if you believe that God's word is greater than the circumstances, greater than your feelings, greater than opinions and report of others, then you can start saying, I am redeemed, I am blessed, I am new creation in Christ Jesus. All things work together for good in my life. Glory to God! Let God arise and let His enemies be scattered!
You can begin to speak over your home. The blessing of abide in this place. You create the atmosphere of your home with your own words.
This is the day to make a decision: "I am going to fill my heart with God's word". I will speak His word and with the help of the Holy-Spirit, I will align my words and thoughts with the word of God.
Stop the death talk and live life to the fullest with the word of God.
You can change the course of your life by the words you are speaking.
God bless you all!
