A helping hand for passports
The Telegraph | Pheroze L. Vincent | New Delhi, May 30:
Delhi police has appointed an officer to deal with passport-related problems, immediately after joint commissioner of police Robin Hibu, who heads the Northeast peoples' cell, met special commissioner of police (intelligence) Balaji Srivastav on Thursday.
Hibu told The Telegraph, "The northeastern people face prolonged delays and harassment during passport verification in Delhi. This happens because of the unsympathetic attitude of junior police officials. Even well-to-do people from the Northeast, like academics, physicians and lawyers face problems, which I conveyed to Srivastav."
