A Fleeting Smile
K. Radhakumar *
How time flies!
I've got to round off
The last steps
With a note of acceptance
Of the whole of my life.
The last few steps!
This is all that I have
This is all that I have
This is all
This is
This.
No education
No love
No life
No nothing
And I'm not ready for death.
No, I'm not.
Not even for the inevitable.
Until now
My life does not make sense.
It just doesn't add up.
What is life?
What have I been doing thus far?
In this universe
Full of images and echoes?
I have begun to feel my age.
Age and time!
Youth and time!
Ah, love!
I don't know why time flies.
It was not
To the boy in the past
To the flowers that bloom in the spring
In the days that were.
How I wish my life were a coherent whole!
