70th Republic Day Celebration at Loktak Power Station
Loktak Power Station has celebrated 70th Republic Day with patriotic fervour and zeal at office of General Manager (I/c), Loktak PS with large crowd of employees of Loktak Power Station, teachers & students of K.V.Loktak, Bal Vidyamandir and local people. The celebration started off a day preceding the republic day with decoration and lit up of all the buildings and power station in hues of tricolour.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest Shri Amitabh Srivastav, General Manager (I/c), Loktak PS hoisted the tricolour. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that it is the historical day to remember our national heroes & freedom fighters, who suffered to give us a republic nation. He also congratulated all employees of Loktak Power Station for being awarded as Best Rated Power Station (under Peak Power Station Category) as part of NHPC Award Scheme FY 2017-18 and appealed to the all employees to act collectively to achieve many more milestones in coming days”.
Addressing the gathering he also said “In true republic spirit, power station received best performance award at national level National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2018. As part of CSR&SD FY 2018-19, power station is conducting free medical camps, free eye care camps, free cataract operations under project “Netra Jyoti” and providing 02 Medical ambulances for the health emergencies of local people.
As on today, more than 32 cataract patients were got operated at free of cost. Power station also organizing various free tuition camps to more than 122 school children who are having difficulty in learning; and constructing public libraries to improve education facilities and setting up of toilets, bathrooms to improve sanitation facilities, constructing water tanks and GI water supply lines to improve drinking water.
In addition to this, power station is also sponsoring various local football/ Hockey/ Polo tournaments to find out hidden talent among the local youth”. Concluding his speech chief guest thanked all the stakeholders’ including local community in particular.
