4th IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium at Hyderabad: Call For Papers

With the objectives of networking researchers, sharing knowledge and learning from each other and exploring emerging areas of research in various areas of technology, the Institute announces the Fourth IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium.

The Colloquium will be held on October 13-14, 2014 at the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology campus in Hyderabad, India.

Apart from sessions wherein students pursuing Pd.D share their research and get feedback from the academic community, the colloquium would feature workshops and panel discussions on emerging issues in technology research, with the aim of enriching the next generation of technocrats.

The colloquium involves extensive participation of faculty members and technical experts from IDRBT as well as from other top technical institutes, banks, financial institutions, and industry as reviewers, presenters and members of Jury. The Doctoral Colloquium is a significant effort towards attaining leadership in technology research related to Banking.

CALL FOR PAPERS:

This Colloquium provides an opportunity for passionate researchers pursuing their full-time Pd.D to present and discuss their research ideas, problems, build a strong network and get valuable feedback.

The colloquium focuses on the following areas but would not be limited to:
* Banking Technology
* Electronic Payment and Settlement Systems
* Financial Networks and Applications
* Security Technologies
* Financial Information Systems
* Business Analytics & CRM
* Finalcial Inclusion Technologies
* Networking and Distributed Systems
* IT Infrastructure and Green IT
* Open Source Technologies
* Core Banking System Related Areas
* Other Closely Related Areas

The copyright of the work presented in the colloquium shall rest with the author. However, the Institute would publish the title and abstract of the work presented in the Institute's newsletters/reports.

ELIGIBILITY:

All Research Scholars who are currently enrolled for their full-time Ph.D in any discipline directly related to the above-mentioned areas and have completed a minimun of two years of research after enrolling for full-time Ph.D are eligible to participate in the Colloquium.

Scholars who have already presented their Research work in the Institute's previous Doctoral Colloquia need not apply again.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Submitted papers should give clear description of the Ph.D work being conducted by the author of the paper. In particular, papers must:
* Provide a clear problem statement, outlining the research challenges that drive the proposed work
* Describe the proposed solution with research methodology, its expected impact, and preliminary results
* Discuss the progress beyond the state-of-the-art of the envisioned research
* Research outcomes in comparision with current literature and approaches (cite key papers)

Each paper must be formatted and at the most be 6 pages in length (strictly enforced) including references and annexures if any, written in Times New Roman, 12 points with a single line spacing and a margin of 2.5 cm. Submissions must be single-author (with institutional affiliation and year of enrolment), and the name of the supervisor(s) must be clearly marked. Submissions in Microsoft Word document format with the said formatting guidelines should be mailed to [email protected] latest by July 21, 2014. Please attach a scanned copy of your Identity Card with the e-mail.

Notification of Acceptence: August 04, 2014
4th IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium: October 13-14, 2014 at IDRBT, Hyderabad

HOSPITALITY & TRAVEL:

All scholars whose papers are accepted by the Institute would be reimbursed Third A/C to and fro rail fare from the Research scholar's Institute/Organization to attend the Colloquium. Further, Scholars will also be provided free boarding and lodging in the Institute's campus in Hyderabad during the Colloquium.

REWARD:

An eminent jury will evaluate the papers and presentations and the top three scholars would receive prizes of INR 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only), INR 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) and INR 35,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Thousand only) respectively in order of their standing. All presenters will also receive a certificate of participation.

CONTRIBUTOR: Longjam Nirman Singh is a lecturer at the department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati, India. He is associated with IIIT Guwahati since December 2012. His research areas of interest include: Natural Language Processing (for Manipuri and North-Eastern languages of India), Text-to-Speech Systems and Human Computer Interaction. He received B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering (2010) from Manipur University, M.Tech in Information Technology (2012) from Tezpur University, India.

He is currently developing a documentation and typing tool for Manipuri (a language in the 8th schedule of India) with transliteration facility. He has experience in designing and developing website and is currently webmaster for www.iiitg.ac.in. His hobbies include: painting, writing and composing song for native language (Meeteilon/Manipuri) and translating them in various neighbouring languages.

He also holds bachelor's degree (equivalent) in Indian classical musical instrument 'Tabla' from Bhatkhande Sangit Bidyapith Lucknow, India. He is interested in meeting new people and expanding the perspective of thinking. He is also interested to work for the betterment of society in which he grew up, and also in voluntary work in free time for special interest groups for the same cause.
