Suspected Zeliangrong Naga militants on Wednesday morning abducted four truck drivers from the remote Upper Lodhi village, nearly 70 km from here, near the Cachar-Dima Hasao border in southern Assam.
The kidnappers also took away the trucks carrying stone from the Chiri riverbed in Upper Lodhi village in Jinam Valley near the Cachar-Dima Hasao border. However, when one of the trucks broke down, the militants abandoned the vehicle and fled with three trucks and four drivers. The incident took place at 10.30 am, police sources said.
