Regarding 3 days bandh called in Angami dominated areas of Nagaland
Assam, 22nd March 2022
The Assam State Unit of World Meetei Council is concerned about the three days bandh called in Angami dominated areas of Nagaland in protest against the stationing of Manipur police personnel in disputed area of Kezoltsa bordering Manipur and Nagaland affecting the National Highways which is a lifeline of Manipur.
The cause of the bandh could be genuine but such disputes could have been settled by both the state governments in time. Violation of such agreements which was made in the past are the only reasons to flare up such bandh situations.
However Assam state unit, in the interests of all the native people of the Northeast, appeal the Southern Angami Peoples Organization (SAPO) to review the decision and opt for alternative ways without disturbing the flow of National Highways and not victimizing innocent people of the region.
Moreover the states have recently been recovered from pandemic situation and therefore in all fairness let there be a free flow of movement on the highways.
