30 mn trafficking victims worldwide: Manipur CJ

The number of victims of human trafficking worldwide has reached an appalling 30 million and 11.9 million of them are from the Asia Pacific region alone, Manipur High Court Chief Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad said on Saturday.
Delivering his speech during a judicial seminar on human trafficking at Manipur High Court auditorium here, Justice Prasad also said the service providers take such victims to other countries and seize their passports and later make them victims of forced labour.
