10-day handicraft exhibition kick start in Bangalore

Ganjeefa art from Mysore, Pateena craft from Delhi, Longfee pottery from Manipur and oak wood silk from the mountains, all of them will be available right here in Bangalore. A 10-day fair called Sampoorn Santhe 2011 will start off this Friday at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath.
The exhibition aims at bringing as many handicrafts and handiworks from across the nation to the urban Bangalorean. This will serve at not just introducing them to the rich Indian heritage, but also works towards helping many of these rural artisans survive. This monsoon santhe will witness the participation of 145 artisan households and 25 NGOs from across the country.
This fair is on till June 26.
