The Chronology of Meetei Monarchs( From 1666 CE to 1850 CE) is a calendar of events and a record of activities covering political history, military expeditions, wars, conquests, foreign relations, royal births and deaths, royal pastime and natural disasters from the accession of King Senpi Paikhompa of Manipur in 1666 CE to the death of Nara Singh in 1850 CE. The work is based on the court chronicle Cheitharon Kumpapa. A work of reference containing the Common Era dates of Manipur history has been felt by students and readers. This book is designed to fill that lacuna. It provides the principal Common Era dates of Manipur history from the time when the court chronicle Cheitharon Kumpapa started mentioning the day of week. From 1666 CE onwards the days of the week is mentioned in Cheitharon Kumpapa. The quotations provided are translations of the royal chronicle.

The material in this book is organized into 13 chapters. Each part is divided into sections. The first chapter, covering the reign of Senpi Paikhompa( 1666 to 1698 CE) is divided into nine sections viz., introduction, military expeditions, administration, crime and punishment, public utility services, religious condition, royal amusement, chronology of royal births and deaths. The 2nd chapter covers the reign of Charairongpa (1698 to 1709 CE). It is divided into eight sections.

The 3rd chapter covers the period of Pamheipa ( 1709 to 1748 CE). This chapter is divided into 32 sections. The prominent of them are military expedition into the hills, religious policy- introduction of Ramanandi school of Vaishnavism, war with Burma, invasion from Tripura, conquests of Myedu and Sagaing of Burma and abdication of Pamheipa.

The 4th chapter covers the years from 1759 to 1759 CE. This chapter discusses in detail the Burmess invasions of 1754 and 1758 and the First Anglo Manipuri Treaty (1762). The 5th chapter, covering the reign of Beigyachandra ( 1763 CE to 1799 CE), is divided into 26 sections. This chapter presents the details of the Burmese invasions of 1764,1769,1773 and 1774, foundation of Manipur Goudiya Vaisnop School- introduction of Mnipuri Raas Lila, royal prigrimage etc.

The 6th chapter is devoted to the reign of Loiren Khompa ( 1799 to 1801 CE); the 7th chapter, to Tamlen Khompa ( 1800 - 18O4 CE) and the 8th chapter, to Chourjit ( 1804 to 1814 CE). The 9th Chapter covers the reign of Marjit ( 1814 to 1819 CE) and the Seven Years' Devastation ( 1819 to 1825).

The 10th chapter contains eight sections viz., the meetei princes dethrone Govinda Chandra, proclamation of the First Anglo Burmese War, Liberation of Manipur by Gambhir Singh's Levy, the battle of Tamu and the Treaty of Yandaboo etc. The 11th chapter is devoted to the reign of Gambhir Singh ( 1825 to 1834 CE); the 12th chapter, to Chandra Kirti (1834 to 1844 ) and the last , to Nara Singh ( 1844 to 1850 CE).

The book contains an Appendix i.e. the list of solar and lunar eclipses as recorded in the royal chronicle with eclipse type and max. eclipse adapted from NASA. It also provides 21 plates (e.g. gold mask recovered from Cheiraoching) and one political map of Manipur published in Carey's general atlas in 1814.
