Amit Shah Ji made it very clear

Free Thinker *

Restoration of peace and normalcy must be given top priority. Amit Shah ji is coming back in 15 days. Stop violence and bloodshed immediately – is a stern warning given to all. Other things can be sorted out later. People are suffering on both sides; relief and rehabilitation is the prime concern. Hatred-mongering must stop at once. ‘On’ the internet, let us check who is doing what ?

First, the Hon’ble PM has conveyed his deepest condolences to all the bereaved families who have lost their near and dear ones in the recent unfortunate incidents of violence in Manipur (Message brought by Amit Shah ji).

The unity and integrity of Manipur will not be compromised - he made it amply clear, and he also warned the people not to spread rumors that may trigger tension and more conflict. People coming from foreign countries shall be identified using biometrics and they will be either settled or deported accordingly. The 1961 deadline for foreigners’ identification may be reconsidered, if necessary.

Inquiry and investigation shall be done, but we all know that in mob violence it is hard to trace the culprits. For Raj Dharma we must do the Judicial inquiry headed by a Retired CJ of a High Court; the CBI inquiry will be conducted in 6 specific incidences. Let’s see what comes out of these.

Unified Command under the State Security Advisor should work harder to restore normalcy. Security Advisor may kindly assert so that all fall in line. Amit Shah ji had given a free hand, all the agencies must obey his orders. The sensitive areas may be given to the Army without discrediting the local police and other paramilitary forces.

A nonstop supply of essential commodities to all the districts is to be ensured by the State Machinery without fail. Whoever is blocking the roads shall be dealt with severely. Guns and bullets taken away may kindly be returned at the earliest before Amit Shah ji returns. . if you are caught red-handed with the arms in the combing operations you will be treated as a traitor and shall be put behind bars under NSA.

SoO parties too are warned not to move around here and there and follow the agreement. If they violate the ground rules they may be treated in the same manner as arms looters.

If I understand the pulse of the people correctly - the entire population thinks that the pace for action was/is slow. Distrust between the two communities is unimaginably low due to non-intervention from the State - both Center and State. Now it will be extremely difficult to restore the earlier trust and bonhomie. But, we must not give up.

Meiteis are in-born patriots, when their motherland was threatened, they did not fear to challenge the mighty British. They have the courage to die for their Motherland. Manipur is considered as their Motherland. That is the beauty. They want to believe that Nagas, Kukis, and Pangans also think in the same way.

What do Kukis want ? – Change of leadership, disarm the Meitei armed people (so-called radicalized), a separate administration, compensate the properties destroyed (including vehicles), compensate more for the deceased, relief and rehabilitation of the displaced people at the earliest, airport, university, chopper service, etc. Present Delhi Durbar may not like to carve out new States or UTs on the basis of religion or ethnicity.

Perhaps Meiteis want nothing but the restoration of their pride, peace, and normalcy with the assurance that ‘Manipur will remain as Manipur’; and retain their hazy hegemony. They are hurt when a band of tribes, mostly outsiders challenge their ego of dominance.

SoO parties must stick to the agreement rules. And bring back the Kuki-Zo Hon. MLAs to Imphal so that others follow suit. Meitei Ministers and MLAs must be shifted to Kuki-dominated areas so that the Meitei commoners go back there for resettlement- of course with proper security arrangements.

Amit Shah ji made it very clear that “in last 6 years there was peace and progress in the State, don’t waste it”. The last message was loud and clear – in 15 days normalcy must be restored - if violence and bloodshed continue things will be really difficult. Be ready, he is coming back after going through the representations received and pondering over the hearings he had in Manipur.

Meiteis are wary of 3 (Article); it looks like Shiv ji’s Trishul – it can do a lot of destruction. So, better remain calm. Kuki brothers are requested not to tease/hurt the Meiteis who are mad about Manipur; they even fought and lost battles against the mighty British just for her. The sanctity of ‘1949 Manipur’ must remain sacrosanct.

A Darjeeling or a Bodoland may be worked out with Meitei STs, proportionately sharing the total area. That is the next stage. First, we need to ban violence and talk about peace everywhere, from top to bottom. Otherwise, we get nothing, not even rice. Mind you, he is a very hard taskmaster- will see the progress report in 15 days.
