Event highlight: Awareness Cycle Rally from Keibul Lamjao National Park to Sangai Ethnic Park (5 km aprox.)

An Awareness Cycle Rally from Keibul Lamjao National Park to Sangai Ethnic Park, Moirang Khunou was held on 3rd March 2023 to celebrate and raise awareness on the world’s wild fauna and flora as part of the United Nations global celebration of World Wildlife Day under the theme ‘Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation’.

World Wildlife Day : Awareness Cycle Rally

The event was jointly organized by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun and the Office of the Deputy Conservator of Forests (Park & Sanctuary), Manipur Forest Department in association with the Environmental Social Reformation & Sangai Protection Forum (ESRSPF).

The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of around 200 school students from Paradise Gardening School, Kumbi Sandhong Upper Primary School, Loyalam Public School and Chingmei Upper Primary School.

The participants were sensitized on the importance of wildlife and the contribution that they make to our lives, and our responsibility to preserve wildlife while living in harmony with nature. Resource persons of the programme include researchers of WII, Officials of the Manipur Forest Department, and Executive Members of ESRSPF.
