Take immediate action to bring normalcy

We, the members of North American Bangladesh Manipuri Society, Inc. people of Manipur origin. are deeply saddened and urgently concerned by the current crisis in Manipur. We offer our united and unequivocal condolences to each one who has lost their loved ones irrespective of caste, creed, gender, rank, file, prestige or religion.

We are at a loss as to how to end the insanity of this moment that is seeing such a colossal waste of human life and turning brother against brother, sister against sister, neighbor against neighbor and tearing communities apart that have been living arm and arm from time immemorial.

We urge the government of Manipur and all the stakeholders to take immediate action to bring normalcy and steps to prevent further exacerbating the situation. Furthermore, we appeal to the social media users, news outlets and publishers to report reasonably to avoid further escalating tensions in the region and beyond.

We appeal to all stakeholders, and all actors to refrain from violence. Peaceful negotiation could bring normalcy. All lives in Manipur, whether from the Hills or the Valleys matter.

Finally, we wish for the peace and harmony of all the people of Manipur.
