NSCN-K 'truce' with Myanmar puzzles Centre

Sujit Chakraborty, New Delhi (Apr 26): The signing of a ceasefire agreement between the NSCN (K) and the Myanmar government on April 12 without taking the Government of India into confidence has put a major hindrance to the possibility of extension of ceasefire between the Government of India and the NSCN (K) which was scheduled to take place in New Delhi’s Ashoka Hotel at 12 pm on Thursday, April 27.
The present ceasefire will expire tomorrow, the 28th of April. It was to be extended for another one year period. Highly placed sources told The Seven Sister’s Post that the NSCN-K leadership has to “clarify why they signed ceasefire agreement keeping us in the dark. We are now in a fix. We don’t know whom to talk to.
Signing a ceasefire with t he Government of Myanmar means they are a Myanmarese underground outfit.” According to sources, NSCN-K Kilonser Y Wanting Naga signed the ceasefire agreement on behalf of the NSCN-K collective leadership. T
