SPF Govt. refuted the charges leveled by NSCN (IM)
- SPF Government (Manipur) -

29 May 2010

The SPF Govt. strongly refuted the charges leveled by NSCN (IM) alleging of having collusion with RPF who allegedly served quit notice to the Non- Manipuris living in Manipur. The Govt. further clarified that any underground organizations will be treated with the same yardstick and all the Non-Manipuris living in Manipur will be protected with full proof. The allegation of NSCN (IM) shows their desperate and immaturity.

The sinister design of Shri Muivah, general Secretary of NSCN IM to disintegrate Manipur and inflammatory remarks that made by NSCN IM through the Medias with an attempt to inflicting communal mistrust in Manipur is so unfortunate and hence calls for condemnation by all citizens of Manipur in particular and international communities in general. Before going too long it is pertinent to understand together that no community or race in this planet would remain a silent spectator when their very peaceful co-existence had ever been disturbed and when their territorial integrity is threatened by some miscreants.

Just to put the records straight Manipur is formed by various communities. The SPF Government represents all communities neither its policy based on caste or creed nor working for the interest of a particular community. The colorful people living together since time immemorial are all Manipuris and the nomenclature Manipuri itself is a geographical expression. Any nefarious activities to break this age old bonds will be befittingly deal with no matter how big or small they are. The SPF Government stands against racial policy and nepotism and till its last man we will continue to uphold the spirit.

We all know that NSCN (IM) do not represent the whole of the Nagas. The organization represents a section of people who are terribly infested with vested motive. Their evil deeds always disgraced the nomenclature NAGA in many ways. To cite few instances some frontal organizations of NSCN (IM) spared no efforts in their attempt to thwart the ADC Election process recently held but the local populace came out to practice their franchise defying the dictate.

NSCN (IM) is deadly against the election for one simple reason that the money they have been robbing from the Government officials at broad daylight by brandishing their AK47 and M20 pistol will no longer be in practice if once the election is held. In the process the fund will directly transfer to the democratically elected representatives and process itself will find its way to streamlining the benefit to the public. This is not what NSCN IM wants. The ADC Election literally cuts off the ‘easy money’ pipeline for them.

So the ultimate showdown was to threaten the public not to cast vote and attempting to boycott the election but it never happened. The God disposes the proposes of the guilt. Many people braved the guns and bullets and emerged out to give votes during the Election. ‘The power of people is the power of God’ had exactly been displayed by the people this time. The SPF Government will leave no stone unturned in its pursuit to safeguard the right of the tribal people and there is no compromise in these areas.

Nevertheless the SPF Government with the co-operation of the public paying its best effort to contain the economy blockade imposed by some frontal organizations at the behest of NSCN IM. The incident that occurred at Mao Gate of Manipur was so unfortunate. The motive of deploying state forces in Mao area was to block Mr. Muivah from entering Manipur not to confront the people of Mao. Mr.Muivah is the root of all evils.

Under his command many innocent Kukis that is estimated about 900 numbers have been butchered many Nagas who cherished peaceful co-existence have also been killed in retaliation by the Kukis. Many kuki houses have been uprooted. Prominent Naga leaders and hordes of Manipuri officials have been shot dead for the reasons best known to him.

The people of Manipur have been subjected to inhuman torture; heavy illegal taxes have continuously been imposed on the National Highway 53 and 39. He had never been an indigenous man but a merciless alien that perpetuated unpardonable human crimes against his own people. Yes forgive and forget is the best policy and the changing time is the best healer but he never changed. The ghost of greater Nagaland still exists and haunting within him. His home coming is mingled up with his disintegration message of Manipur of greater Nagaland. This is as deadly as venom and we may not require it.

In the meantime his proposed entry in Manipur triggered hypersensitive tension that resulted to imposing curfew at Mao gate. Unfortunately amidst the worst situation two persons have died. The Government has constituted an enquiry committee to find out the exact picture as to how the two students have been killed. The Government is all set to take up action against those personnel as per the provision of law if found guilty. At the same time the SPF Government is duty bound to normalize the situation on National Highway 53 at area like Noneh and to be vigilant from re-occurrence of any untoward incident like Mao situation.

The SPF Government is fully aware that people in Mao, Chandel, Senapati are our people and not to tackle them as we deal with our enemies. The legislators team led by the MPCC President to Noneh with a peace mission that consequently sorted out amicably the differences stood ample testimony to the fact that how much the Government works towards peace. A mammoth rally took the street in areas like Tamenglong and Noneh in the wake of the Mao incident. The SPF Government nevertheless had not the intention to stop the rally with the forces. Instead of coming face to face with the irate people, the Government somehow or the other managed to find out some ways and means to transport the essential commodities through Guite Road via Mizoram. Till today hectic efforts are being paid to normalize the situation.

While the people of Manipur are reeling under such sensitive phase, some individuals are trying to gain political mileage taking undue advantage of the situation. The cheap propaganda is a like a peace of paper that caught on fire and reduced to a pack of ashes within seconds. It is no wonder today’s hero could be tomorrow’s dark villain. The memory of the People of Manipur will not be that too short when recalling who is who if the last twenty years are of any indications in the political history of Manipur.

The problem in Manipur is not communal disharmony. This is not among the Nagas, Kukis, Pangals or Meiteis. This is purely between Mr. Muivah who is openly challenging the territorial integrity of Manipur and people of Manipur one side who say no to him. This should be kept in mind that any form of Government represents the people of the land. The National highway 53 stretch is a long winding road with thin population. In such areas the miscreant and anti socials always reigned. In such a volatile situation if an individual claimed to have escorted all the goods laden vehicle back to Imphal than some fishy things is in the air. Does it make any sense? With some one with reasoning thoughts it will safely conclude that the person who performed the miracle definitely has nexus with the anti socials.

The Assam Rifles, BSF and CRPF etc. are vigilant enough in protecting the Highways despite heavy odds. The SPF Government duly acknowledged their invaluable service in this time of needs. The Government also appeals the people of Manipur to stand by their side at such time. The love, cohesive attitude and co-operation shown by the people of Tamenglong should be whole heartedly acknowledged and the people of Manipur together reciprocate the love and kind that displayed by the people of these areas.

Last but not the least the incident that took place in Noneh area yesterday should not be repeated again. While the forces reacts to the call of the duty it should also keep in mind that the life of the citizen and their safety are to be treated on top priority. The security personnel involved will be punished as per the provision of law if found guilty. Through this statement the SPF government would like to express its solidarity to the three injured people and befitting monetary assistance will be compensated to them.
