3 DAYS NYKS TRAINER’S TRAINING PROGRAMME AT RGU
A three day Trainer’s Training (TOT) has began at Rajiv Gandhi (Central) University at Rono Hills Doimukh organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS Zonal Office) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and sport (MoYAS), GoI in collaboration with RGU NSS Unit from 3rd to 5th October 2016.
The participants the programme are from NYKS officials, ex-NYV, youth leaders, youth clubs members of various districts of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh and NSS volunteers from the University.
The inaugural of training programme was graced by Prof. Tamo Mibang, Vice Chancellor RGU as Chief Guest.

Dr. Salam D Singh, DYC Zonal Director (i/c) of Meghalaya took the first session on “Introduction of MoYAS, NYKS, NYV scheme, aim & objective and programmes of NYKS” and continuing the second session by John G Gangmei Asst. Professor Dept. of Social Work, RGU on “Life Skills and Personality Development”.
The programme aims to train a trainer’s for empowering the emerging leaders in social sectors thereby involving youth clubs, NSS volunteers and National Youth Volunteers (NYV) in their respected districts of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
The programme coordinators of the training are Mr. Olom Talom, DYC (i/c) NYKS Itanagar, Mr. Gomar Basar, Asst. Registrar (Acad)/ NSS PO and Mr. John Gaingamlung Gangmei, Asst. Professor/ PO NSS. NYKS has been engaged in organising various awareness programmes, vocational training (skill upgradation), national integration camp, setting up youth clubs, Mahila Mandal-self help group (SHG) besides many other programmes of MoYAS.
