Imphal, October 24 2009: One suspected UG cadre has been slain in a reported encounter with security forces at Langdum Lamkhai under Irilbung police station in Imphal East district at about 7.25 pm today.

The UG suspect tried to evade and flee away from a frisking party.

On being the person opened fire resulting in a brief shoot-out in which the UG suspect was killed, said a source.

One motorcycle (CBZ), one .32 pistol and one hand grenade have been recovered from the slain UG suspect, added the source.

The identity of the deceased could not be established till the time of filing this report.
