Imphal, March 17 2009: Along with launching agitation against the killing of Akoijam Priyobarta alias Bochou (25) of Mongsa-ngei Boroimakhong whom the police claimed to have been killed during an encounter with the Imphal West Police Commandos at Langol on the night of March 15, memorandum has been submitted to the Government today demanding punishment the Commandos involved in the killing among others.

December 20 has also be set as the deadline to meet these demands.

Refuting the police claim of killing Priyobarta during an encounter and recovering one 9 mm pistol loaded with live rounds of ammunition from his possession by th Police Commandos, the family members have asser-ted that he was an innocent person and on that fateful day he had gone out from home driving a Bajaj Pulser (MN-1M/5073) and carrying Rs 8000 in person.
