Imphal, February 07: The KSO Chandel district has strongly condemned the tragic incident of landmine explosion that killed three women who were working under NREGS at New Somtal village of Chandel district on February 4, conveyed a KSO release.

In addition to Paoneng Haokip (43) w/o Jamkhothang, Lhingkhonem (50) w/o Chungkhojam and Hoikhokim (45) w/o Thangtinlen Guite killed in the explosion, two other women identified as Lamhoi Haokip (56) and Nenghoi Haokip (30) also sustained serious injuries, it informed.

The KSO further appealed to the authority concerned to extend ex-gratia to the families of the deceased and financial assistance to the injured victims without any delay.

It also warned the perpetrators not to repeat such despicable acts in future.
