Imphal, July 26: In an effort to prevent spread of avian influenza, the district administration Imphal East in coordination with the Veterinary Department and other Departments will be culling poultry birds and their products in Imphal East district.

In a press release, DC Imphal East Y Thamkishore appealed to the people to cooperate with the officials/Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) operating in the district by way of providing information of the existence of poultry birds, transportation/movement of poultry birds and its products in their respective areas.

He further appealed to the public not to conceal poultry birds.
