Imphal, March 17 2009: Local residents of Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal today staged a Wakat Meepham in protest against planting of bombs in inhabited areas and creating fear among the people.

The protest demonstration was staged in the backdrop of the recent incident of placing a hand grenade inside the drawing room of the house belonging to on Laimayum Chaoba of Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal who works in the Tourism Department of the State Government by some unidentified youths in the afternoon of March 15. On the other hand, th employees of the Tourism Department also demonstrated in their office complex in protest against the bomb threat.
