Imphal, June 22: The proscribed PREPAK has claimed responsibility for the twin firing incidents on June 8 and June 21 respectively.

The first firing incident took place near Babu Keithel, Thoubal Haokha against a passenger bus plying along Salungpham-Imphal route while the second incident took place at Tentha.

Both the incidents were carried out by PREPAK cadres under its Thoubal district commander Yaiphangamba, the outfit claimed while ridiculing the alleged false claim of the PULF that it was behind the first incident.

The firing incident was a result of the alleged disregard shown to the outfit's appeal for some monetary assistance by the Southern Cooperative Society, clarified Yaiphangamba.
