Imphal, April 21: The identity of the individual shot dead by a combined team of Imphal East commandos and troops of 21 AR at Soikonjin under Kakching police station on April 19 has been established as one Ningthoujam Tomba (40) s/o late Heiton of Nungoo Mayai Leikai.

According to information received from family members, Tomba was a cadre of the KYKL some years back.

But it was quite some time since he had been staying at home snapping all ties with the UG group, they said.

He was a married man having three sons and a daughter.

On completion of post mortem, the family members have claimed the corpse.
