Imphal, February 26: Police Commandos retrieved a hand grenade which was left by unidentified gunmen near the gate of the house of Sapam Samjai who is the finance officer of Manipur University at Thongju Part-II early morning today.

In protest against the incident, Meira Paibis staged a Wakat Meepham at Thongju Pechu ground in the afternoon today.

On the other hand, unidentified gunmen fired two rounds at the Sagolband Thingom Leikai residential verandah of one Thingom Shanta (51) who works as the SK of SDO Bishnupur at around 7 pm yesterday.

However, as the bullet mis-fired, no one was injured in the attack.

The unidentified attackers were three in number with one female remaining near the gate on an Activa while two others came to the house.

Meanwhile, in protest against such attack, a sit-in-protest session was held at the ground of Thingom Leikai today.
